2026 FEMALE PISTOL SKILLS

This 2-day course is designed as a great refresher of handgun skills. it is a friendly and open environment to refresh the essentials of shooting. the emphasis is on shooting fundamentals, elements of shooting and the SAFE series. It will reinforce accurate shooting and positive manipulation of the handgun.

2026 ADVANCED FEMALE PISTOL SKILLS

This 2-day course is designed to build on fundamental shooting skills for female officers. The course will include refresher material from basic courses and will build into more advanced application of those skills. The class is designed for officers who are comfortable with their shooting, but have a desire to increase their abilities in a friendly environment. The course covers shooting at various distances, one-handed pistol manipulation, shooting from cover, shooting while moving and other related skills.

2026 Female Rifle Skill

This 2-day course is designed for the female officer to refine and build patrol rifle skills in an environment that is open and encouraging. It will cover the fundamentals of using a patrol rifle such as loading, unloading, manipulation of the fire controls, three types of reloads, malfunction clearance techniques, transition from rifle to handgun, sighting considerations, positional shooting, ballistics, rifle set-up and related equipment selection.

Female Firearms Fundamentals – Female LE/Military Only

MISSION CRITICAL CONCEPTS, hosted by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, is offering a combined handgun and patrol rifle fundamentals course for female law enforcement officers at the Wright County Training Center. This course is for all female officers looking to improve their firearms skills (grip/vision/trigger, speed, accuracy, and movement) in a low-stress, confidence-boosting learning environment.

Attendees will dedicate one day to pistol training and one day to rifle training. This course will increase the attendees’ confidence (through self-assessment) in running a patrol rifle and in their issued handgun, with speed and accuracy, and will develop the skills needed to move and shoot in dynamic situations.

Lead instructor is Orie Oksendahl, a seasoned Firearms and Tactics instructor for a state agency in Minnesota. She has experience on multiple tactical teams and in high-risk operations. Oksendahl is also a licensed Tactical Strength & Conditioning Facilitator and certified Health & Wellness coach.

Events that MAWP hosts are part of our mission. To build relationships, network and find your tribe. We encourage if you are looking for mentorship and peer support to attend one of the events. We do a range of activities from attending sporting events, paint parties, physical activity, firearm practice and more! Our members go on to have lots of social events outside of MAWP as well!
